IT Skills
My specialities are web development, database management, and management information systems. I have built web sites using PHP, ASP.NET, Perl, ColdFusion, and am proficient with Javascript and building database-driven online applications. My preferred tools are the Dreamweaver Suite, Microsoft Expression Web, and Microsoft Visual Studio. Currently, I am learning how to build mobile applications using HTML5 and CSS 3.
I am an expert in building complex spreadsheet and database applications for business analysis. Recently I have used SPSS and SAS extensively for performing statistical analysis and creating complex reports and am currently working on programming project in creating GIS and Google Earth applications using KML and map scripting.
In addition to the above, I have worked with both video and audio for web sites. I am quite familiar with many open-source applications, the Linux operating system, the Windows operating system and have worked extensively with Drupal, Mediawiki, and Wordpress.
Example Web Sites:
1) US Office of Personnel Management: Special Rates Tables Site
Built in ASP.NET with an Oracle database. The site you see is the public-facing side where you can search for different Special Rates tables based on the table number, occupation, location, and/or agency. The administrative side is designed to create the list pages and to work with the database tables.
2) Kentucky Communication Association
Transitioning the web site from a static collection of HTML files to a Drupal web site so that KCA can manage members, event registrations, and publish its journal online.
